Jock Athletic is proud to bring you the 2nd Annual Jane McGrath Classic, a fun run/walk to be held on Cronulla Beach on Australia Day 2008, one of the premier events on the Sutherland Shire Council Australia Day program.

The Jane McGrath Classic was created as a means to promote heath and fitness in the local community by encouraging family participation and as a premier fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation.

The Jane McGrath Classic is designed to raise awareness toward educating young women to be breast aware and raising funds for much needed breast care nurses. It is also a tribute to the battle that many women like Jane have fought and overcome from this wretched affliction.

The Jane McGrath Classic has two components – a Walk event and Run event.

The Walk: An all age event, a 3km walk from Cronulla Beach along the Esplanade to Shelly beach and back. JMC WALK EVENT MAP

The Run: 2x laps of a 400m sand/water course (including a man-made sandhill) held on Cronulla Beach. The run event will be divided into age categories, with the winner in each category of the run event to compete in the final. JMC RUN EVENT MAP

REPORT: You can collect your JMC singlet or shirt and race numbers (runners only) from the Jock Athletic Registration Table from 6:00am.

EVENT START TIMES:

Walkers: 7:00am,Cronulla Beach.
Runners: 8:00am, Cronulla Beach.
Celebrity Challenge: 9:00am,Cronulla Beach.

Finish: Cronulla Beach for all events.

The McGrath Foundation has been selected as the official Sutherland Shire Charity for Australia Day 2008. They are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help them out throughout the course of the day.
