What is the Average Joe's Runner's club?
Average Joe's is a running group for anyone who enjoys their running and is interested in having a bit of fun in the process! The Club has a bit of everything and is for everyone - from those that just want to do their best, lose some weight and get fit to the elite athlete. We accept anyone!

Average runners getting professional back up services and support!
When?
Training up to 4 times a week at various locations, the sessions are tailored to cater for the whole group and include:
| Mon 6-7am: | North Cronulla Beach | Various long intervals or tempo runs around Cronulla. |
| Wed 6-7pm: | Sylvania Athletics Track | Optional extra for those that are keen for more hard work. Longer to medium interval runs. |
| Fri 6-7am: | North Cronulla | Longer distance run to clock up those kilometres at a lower intensity. |
| Sat 7-8am: | Wanda Sandhills | Sandhill running, involving a combination of interval runs, which can include shorter sprints, and longer interval runs - "the white heat of the furnace". |
Most of our runs are held around the Cronulla area with a different run each session. For all you track stars, there is an "optional extra" session each Wednesday night at Sylvania Athletics Track. All of the sessions take place on running trails, track or soft surfaces!
Cost?
2 sessions (Mon & Fri) + Free Sandhills = $40.00 pw
3 sessions (Mon, Fri & Track) + Free Sandhills = $60.00 pw
PLUS, If you would like a one-on-one fitness assessment to accurately track your progress, book in for an Initial Assessment = $120.00
Special Event Programs
Every few months we host a special Average Joe's Runner's Club Program, which is designed to have the Club training for a specific event, such as the Sydney Running Festival or the Gold Coast Marathon.
The comprehensive program package includes:
- Fitness Assessment
- Podiatry Assessment
- Nutritional Guidance
- Training Apparel, including Jacket & Cap
- Skins Compression Garment of your choice
Our very own professional support network for the average runner.
Special Event Programs are offered at a packaged price and will depend on the number of weeks and sessions per week in each Program.
Upcoming Programs 
Wanda X-Treme 6, May 2010
Our very own fun run, the Wanda X-Treme 6 is 6km (+ Free Bonus Km) endurance race through Wanda Sandhills @ Cronulla. The Average Joes program will commence 6 weeks before the Wanda X-Treme, to get you ready in time for this good-fun event!
Gold Coast Marathon, July 2010
In true Average Joe's spirit, we accept anyone and have something for everyone! This years program is geared up for the Gold Coast final events, which includes the marathon, half marathon, 10km run, 5km challenge, and kids 2km/4km dash.
Program Starts: 29th March
Race days: 3 & 4 of July
Where: Gold Coast, Australia
The program: Based in Cronulla - 14 weeks training, with 3 lead up fun runs.
Who: Anyone who wants to walk or run, wants a goal or a challenge.
In preparation for the program and to give people time to get shoes,orthotics etc, we are having the screenings and measurement done 3 weeks before the start of the program. Please make sure you have booked in for an assessment before the 26th of March.

We will also be offering a Marathon Program with 3 training sessions per week for anyone doing the 10k, 5k, 2k/4k. Please contact the office if you are interested and for further details.
Clothing included in the Marathon Program Pack will also be available for purchase to anyone in the Average Joe's Runner's Club. Contact the office for prices and orders.
For those wanting to do a great run time in the Gold Coast and actually race the Marathon, you should start your training now. We currently run 3 to 4 Average Joe's sessions a week that would be an ideal place to start. The emphasis now is building your aerobic base and getting some kilometres in your legs.
For those that just want to finish the Marathon or Half Marathon, you should complete 3 jogs per week building up to 45mins as a minimum before you start the program at the end of March. Again, if you need help with this, please speak to us about joining in some Average Joe's sessions.
Accommodation
We have been advised that accommodation on the Gold Coast over the Marathon weekend needs to be booked well ahead of time.
Our preferred travel agent is Nicole Watson from Travel Divas (and long-term member of Jock Athletic). If anyone needs accommodation please contact her directly at traveldivas@optusnet.com.au and organise it now. We are suggesting you stay in Broadbeach.
